Our
POWER Finish
by Lee
Holliday, DTM
District 14 Governor, Georgia Toastmasters
Here we are with the end of the
2006-2007 Toastmasters year rushing upon us. All over
the state of Georgia you have made this an incredible,
memorable year. You have excelled and accomplished many
goals – and you’re still going strong!!
Through our two Toastmaster Leadership
Institutes, Fall Conference, Spring Conference, the
Dare to Soar Tour events in Divisions from North Georgia
to Savannah, from Augusta to Warner Robins and all over
greater Atlanta, an enthusiasm has sparkled in your
eyes, personalities, words and actions. You have made
this District Governor humbly grateful and immensely
proud of you.
You are so very close to reaching
the ultimate in success – to show the rest of
the world what you have known all along – that
District 14 (Georgia Toastmasters) is the Number One
District in the world. You must only stay the course
in the basics to finish on June 30, 2007 with a flourish!
Complete your communication
goals – CCs and
ACs – and report them to TI as
soon as possible. Finish and report your leadership
goals –
CLs and ALs and especially
the “old” CLs!
It is critically important that
you recruit new members.
Every Club has been challenged to Beat the Clock
by registering 5 new members during the months of May
and June. And LGM Cindy Cannon has challenged you further
to S-T-R-E-T-C-H Your Membership by
ending your year with a net gain of 5 members over the
number you had on July 1. New members are the lifeblood
of our organization. The presence of new members in
club meetings adds a wonderful new perspective and zest!
Finally and most importantly,
we are focused on chartering
new clubs. You can help by contacting
your Division Governor and letting him or her know that
you will invest some of your time and energy toward
helping these new clubs learn how to Dare
to Soar!
In these last few weeks, let’s
apply the principles of a POWER Finish:
Producers
– When you have roots you
will have fruits.
Others
– Be understanding not demanding.
Focus on giving, not receiving.
Words
– May your words be encouraging
and full of life.
Enthusiasm
– Let your passion for Toastmasters
shine.
Results
– Stay focused on accomplishing your goals.
