Message from Lt. Governor Education &
Training:
After you read this paragraph, close
your eyes just for a moment. Let’s go forward in time
to June 30th, 2008. Imagine yourself jumping up and saying,
“YES! I was “Excellence in Action!” I made
my goals in Toastmasters! What goals did you reach?
I hope that one of the goals that you
saw is that you achieved your Competent Leader Award. Have you
looked at the new CL manual? There are 10 projects that teach
you leadership skills. All you had to do was show up at a meeting!
You got credit for reading the manual ahead of time. You went
to the Toastmasters meeting and someone couldn’t be there.
Lo and behold, you had your manual with you. You took their
place. You were able to fulfill one of the 10 projects and you
got credit for it! WOW! I am sure that you saw yourself at the
Spring Conference walking in line to receive your pin for getting
your Competent Leader, your Competent Communicator, Advanced
Leader or even Distinguished Toastmaster medallion. Is that
what you saw?
When I closed my eyes, I saw myself standing
in that same line. I received my 8th Competent Communicator
and my 3rd Competent Leader. I saw myself almost finished with
my 2nd Distinguished Toastmaster. Why? I love toastmasters!
I want to be able to give back to each one of you what I have
gotten from Toastmasters. I also know that you will give to
me a chance to grow and to learn so much more. Let me know how
I can help you, I am here to serve you!
