And the Excellence In Action Winners are...

The best Table Topics and International Speech speakers in District 14 were crowned in Peachtree City GA, during the District 14 Spring Conference on May 2-3, 2008.

Cathy Wendland-Colby emerged victorious from a field of 10 contestants, taking the 1st place prize in the Table Topics Contest.

Brian McClellan took home the 1st place prize in the Interrnational speech contest, from amongst a field of 10 contestants.

Congratulations Cathy and Brian! Brian will go on to represent District 14 at the Regional level in Atlanta Ga on June 19-21, 2008.

of The Year


Debi Merchant receives the Toastmaster of the Year award from Division Governor Joy Lewis.

During the Spring Conference held at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center in Peachtree City, GA on May 2-3, 2008, District 14 Governor, Joy Lewis announced this year's recipients of the District 14 Toastmaster of the Year award. The top honor was presented to Debi Merchant, for her dedication to District 14 Toastmasters, and her ongoing committment to lead the resource center.

District 14 Honors
Isaac Boring with the 2007-2008 Communication & Leadership Award

A HOPE Scholar and recipient of various academic scholarships and awards, Isaac Ezekiel Boring, a full time student at Georgia Perimeter with a 3.77 GPA was selected to be the recipient of District 14, 2008 Toastmaster Communication & Leadership award. Isaac teaches English to refugees through the Family Literacy Program, at the Refugee Family Services. In addition, he serves on other volunteer initiatives with Hands on Atlanta, Project Open Hand, and the Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless campaign. In light of his activism in the Atlanta community, he was honored as the recipient of the 2007 Georgia Perimeter College, Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. humanitarian award.
