Happy New Year Georgia Toastmasters!
July 1st launches the beginning of a new Toastmasters year for over 250,000 Toastmasters in more than 12,000 clubs in 106 countries around the world! Georgia Toastmasters are currently ranked 3rd in the world from a performance perspective. As results continue to roll in from across the globe, we anticipate a call from our current International President declaring Georgia Toastmasters President’s Distinguished.
We start our new 2009-2010 year with a total of 277 active clubs in the state of Georgia and over 5,500 members. As your District Governor, I am honored to serve our clubs and our members. We have an amazing team of District leaders in place who have already begun working to support your success. Our 2009-2010 theme for District 14 is “Empowered to Succeed”.
As we begin yet another great Toastmasters year, I am encouraged by our Toastmasters Mission and energized by the Values of Toastmasters International. I promise to embrace the mission and incorporate the core values of integrity; dedication to excellence; service to the member and respect for the individual. I fundamentally believe in this organization because I fundamentally believe in you. I am eager to serve your clubs and support your success!
My goal is simple. To the lead the district in such a way that will foster strong clubs throughout the state; produce maximum growth in educational completions for our membership and promote a standard of excellence consistent with the interests of our members.
Each of us has a critical role to play in our individual and collective success this year. We may start by ensuring that every club officer is properly trained at least twice a year to meet the needs of our clubs and our members. We may start by ensuring that your Club’s Success Plan includes providing quality meetings and a quality member experience. We may start by planning our work and working our plan to achieve success this year!
Every Club in this great state of Georgia has a right to become a Distinguished Club this year. Clubs are recognized as Distinguished when only 5 out of 10 DCP goals are met. Make the commitment to become a Distinguished Club this year. You can do it! Plan your work and work your plan to achieve success.
A new year has dawned. Our new Toastmasters journey has begun. Step into your greatness. As a Georgia Toastmaster, you are “Empowered to Succeed”.
I look forward to leading you, guiding you and serving you.
Happy New Year Georgia Toastmasters!
